Our Council Policies, Plans Strategies About Policies, Plans Strategies. The Regional Resource Management Plan is the most extensive resource planning document for Hawke's Bay under the RMA. The RRMP includes objectives, policies, methods including rules for that part of the region not within the coastal environment. The RMA requires every regional council to prepare and maintain a coastal plan for its region. Every NZ council must prepare a Long Term Plan every three years under the Local Government Act 2002.
Hawke's Bay Regional Council publishes its Annual Plan in the intervening two years between Long Term Plans LTP for the community to consider, make submissions and assist in developing the work programme of the Council. LAWMS outlines the region’s vision and strategic directions for the future management of land and freshwater. An aim is to protect the productive land of the plains while providing for appropriate future development. This is a strategic document currently in initial phases of scoping and preparation.
The stakeholder group is meeting again in August 2016 and will make further recommendations to the Council on the development of this strategy.
